The most popular times to visit Germany include the summer (May – September), when the weather is finest, and around Christmas in December (the beginning of the winter). If you do not mind crowded attractions, book your flight tickets and accommodation well in advance to ensure you get a good deal. A popular event at the end of the summer is Oktoberfest, which normally runs from late September to early October. Between May and September, you can enjoy Rhein in Flammen, a fireworks spectacle that takes place on five dates along the breath-taking banks of the Rhine. Would you rather beat the crowds? Visit Germany between March and May (spring) and between late October and November (autumn). The weather might be somewhat chilly at times, but you’ll get the benefit of lower hotel costs and a reduction in the volume of tourists. Major events that take place around these months include Maifest in May.
